South Africans are going to the polling stations for the municipal elections later this year. Many ask, "Why should I vote and for who should I vote?"
This year it is local government elections which means residents vote for the person and party they trust most to represent them as councillor in the council.
The Freedom Front Plus is proud to say that they represent the rights of the minority and has many successes to proof their efficiency.
A number of cases of fruitless and wasteful expenditure as well as irregularities within the Mogale City and other West Rand municipalities have been exposed and dealt with by the Freedom Front Plus.
"Councillors bear the responsibility to act in the best interest of the community but should also be vigilant when attending portfolio meetings and council meetings to ensure the city council complies with municipal regulations and delivers services. This is no easy task but the Freedom Front Plus will continue to do this," says Amanda de Lange, councillor for the FF Plus in Mogale City.
De Lange says the Freedom Front Plus will never cease the fight to uphold the best interest of our constituents.
De Lange adds that it is also of great importance to residents in Randfontein, Westonaria, Carletonville and Fochville (Merafong City) to fight for their rights by voting for the Freedom Front Plus in the coming municipal elections.
“It is important to ensure that the Freedom Front Plus is represented on the councils in the West Rand. Freedom Front Plus councillors will fight the intended merger of all the West Rand towns into one large Metro city”, De Lange said.
Voters are reminded that the first registration weekend for registration is on Saturday and Sunday, 5 and 6 March 2016 and the second voters' registration will take place on Saturday and Sunday, 9 and 10 April 2016.
The election date will only be announced after the second registration weekend. The public must know that the voters' roll will be closed for registrations after the proclamation of the election date. Traditionally elections are held on a Wednesday (public holiday) proceeded by two days of special voting. These two days include home visits.
