On this Women’s Day, the Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) honours the women of the past and, in particular, the women of the present who are building the future.
South African women make up the majority of the country’s population and, therefore, play a key role in shaping its future.
The contribution women make to South Africa is immeasurable. They are pioneers, mothers and community leaders who, through sacrifice and perseverance, build families and communities.
So, women should use their vote as a powerful instrument to steer the country in a better direction.
The upcoming municipal elections on 4 November afford women the opportunity to decide who should represent them.
South Africa’s everyday reality is marred by crime, poor service delivery, unsafe schools, and water and electricity problems.
Women know, from personal experience, what is happening in their neighbourhoods, therefore, their voices and insight – expressed through their votes – are infinitely valuable.
Politics requires strong, principled and practical women – women who do not wait for others to speak on their behalf. They should lead from the front, vote in line with their convictions and elect leaders committed to advancing their interests.
The Freedom Front Plus believes that women’s votes will be decisive in making South Africa a country that is safer, fairer and governed better.
We, therefore, implore every woman: gather the relevant information, confer with those around you and go vote on 4 November. Your vote has power. It is time for you to use it.
