The FF Plus supports the application in the Constitutional Court that a motion of no confidence in pres. Jacob Zuma must be done with a secret ballot in parliament, says Dr. Pieter Groenewald, leader of the FF Plus.
Dr. Groenewald says various arguments are being put forward in the Constitutional Court, but the FF Plus will accept the verdict of the court.
He says the FF Plus has not joined the application because there were sufficient arguments put forward by the UDM and other parties and institutions.
"However, we must guard against over-optimism even if the Constitutional Court declares that a secret ballot must take place. Great expectations may arise from the public that a motion of no confidence will succeed with a secret ballot.
"The FF Plus believes that even with a secret ballot, the ANC parliamentarians will remain loyal and faithful to the ANC and thus will not vote to get rid of Zuma.
"If the ANC wants to get rid of Zuma, they will have to do it before their election congress through the party's national executive committee," says Dr. Groenewald.
