The FF Plus has received several complaints from motorists in the Mopani District (Tzaneen, Phalaborwa, Gravelotte, Letsitele) about the condition of the R36 road to Gravelotte.
People are dissatisfied with the improper methods used to try and improve the quality of the road’s surface and it appears that potholes are only being superficially filled.
Residents even sent videos to the FF Plus showing lines painted on the road’s surface right next to potholes that were not repaired.
Such botched patchwork is clearly just a waste of taxpayers’ money.
In August this year, the FF Plus received feedback from Limpopo’s Roads Agency (RAL) in reply to the party’s request regarding a list of roads in the province carrying heavy traffic that need urgent attention.
The party will examine it and put pressure on the RAL to ensure that the current plans are reviewed in cooperation with the National Roads Agency (SANRAL), which is responsible for maintaining the R36.
