Free State budget is pointless in light of ANC ideology

(Speech in Free State Legislature)

South Africa is currently facing an unprecedented economic crisis due to the ANC government's mismanagement and abuses. In 2021, on the eve of the new financial year, the Free State's financial future seems bleaker than ever before.

The Free State ANC, however, has decided to sit back and turn a blind eye to the unfolding destruction caused by its party’s ideology.

Unemployment in the Free State is climbing constantly, service delivery has come to a complete standstill in most towns and municipalities are collapsing at an alarming rate. The roads in the Free State are lethally dangerous and potholes have already claimed the lives of a number of people.

The Free State has turned into a burden for the struggling South African economy.

Various MECs in the province have voiced their misgivings about the cutbacks to their departments' fund allocations in this year's budget. It is indeed inexcusable for the Department of Housing to forfeit more than R100 million in conditional allocations due to underspending.

The coffers of the Free State are empty and so, the funds allocated to departments must be managed properly.

The FF Plus demands that the departments that received greater allocations for the upcoming financial year must perform, deliver services and stop making excuses for failing to execute their mandate.
