The FF Plus welcomes the confirmation by the Human Rights Commission (HRC) that legal action has been instituted against the Vhembe District Municipality (Musina and Louis Trichardt) due to the ongoing water crisis.
The crisis is finally receiving the attention it deserves thanks to continued pressure from the party and cooperation by the HRC’s legal division.
The FF Plus lodged a complaint with the HRC in March 2023 and filed a criminal complaint against Vhembe’s management.
The matter will now go before the High Court because the Vhembe District Municipality had once again failed to implement effective plans to resolve the crisis by 19 March.
The FF Plus would like to see the court force Vhembe to fulfil its constitutional duty to supply water to the residents of Musina, Louis Trichardt and surrounds.
The FF Plus welcomes the steps taken by the HRC, but considers it scandalous that the court has to force a municipality to fulfil its responsibilities towards residents.
Voters should punish the ANC at the polls on 29 May.
With the ANC out of the way, we can restore and rebuild our country.
