SONA 2022: It is time for action

South Africa is facing a plethora of problems, so the time for talking is over and it is time to take action.

Therefore, the FF Plus hopes that in his State of the Nation Address (SONA) 2022, President Cyril Ramaphosa will explain the practical and sustainable steps that he plans to take to address the unemployment crisis in the country.

The people are no longer interested in hearing about some or other conference or discussions that will be held to solve the issue. Decisive action is what is needed to bring about economic growth, which lies at the root of all of South Africa's many problems.

A favourable environment must be created to attract investors to bring their money into the country. Yet another summit and empty promises will not do the trick.

The FF Plus has been pointing out the core causes of the country's economic problems for many years, namely restrictive labour legislation, Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) and Affirmative Action (AA). These must be changed before any kind of progress will be possible.

The party also wants the President to put forward the practical steps that will be taken to combat crime.

President Ramaphosa must explain how the police force can be expected to combat crime effectively while its budget has been cut.

Years of empty promises have crippled the country and estranged the ANC from the people. The burnt down Houses of Parliament serve as a symbol of what has become of South Africa under ANC rule.
