The FF Plus in Mpumalanga has instructed its councillors not to contribute a portion of their salaries to the ANC government's Solidarity Fund as long as race is used to determine who gets aid and who does not.
Municipal councillors in Mpumalanga were asked to donate 4% of their salaries for the next three months as a contribution to the Fund.
The FF Plus maintains the view that the policy of Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) was designed to discriminate against minorities in South Africa and the party's leader, Dr Pieter Groenewald, has made it abundantly clear that the party will not support such initiatives.
The ANC has publicly acknowledged that aid to smaller business enterprises will be allocated in terms of the discriminatory BEE policy.
The FF Plus in Mpumalanga is committed to helping the people, farmers and business enterprises that do not benefit from race-based government grants, financial aid and food donations.
