Gauteng police also do some good work

Although the public's faith in the police force is at an all-time low, the police in Gauteng still do good work; for example, hundreds of people were recently arrested for serious crimes.

During this operation, Kae Moloa, 1250 suspects who are linked to serious crimes, like violence against women and children, were arrested.

Police officers' vigilance also lead to the arrest of two suspected carjackers on Wednesday in Lilianton, Boksburg.

They were in possession of police uniforms, unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

They are also presumably linked to a carjacking being investigated by detectives from the Jeppe police station.

Police officers are frequently criticised for their incompetence and failure to ensure the safety of the people of Gauteng, but it is unfair to judge them all by the same yardstick.

There are indeed many officers who perform their duties effectively and the FF Plus thanks them for it.

The FF Plus will continue to put pressure on the Gauteng Police Commissioner, Lt.-Gen. Elias Mawela, to empower police officers with the training and equipment they need to do their jobs properly.
