The State of the Province Address (SOPA) by the Free State Premier, Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae, was a waste of time and taxpayers’ money. In fact, she and the ANC owe the people of the Free State an apology.
The Premier should apologise for the fact that the province has been maimed beyond recognition under her leadership with failing municipalities leaving residents without water for weeks on end.
Under ANC rule, it has become the norm for residents to perform certain services, such as repairing roads, themselves seeing as the province is struggling to appoint contractors to do it.
It is also the norm for patients to wait for treatment and medication under terrible circumstances in hospitals and clinics.
The Premier said nothing new in her speech of more than an hour, except that her party will strengthen its ties with China.
The FF Plus will not allow the ANC’s norm to remain the province’s norm. The province deserves better. A better future is only attainable without the ANC.
