The FF Plus welcomes the unanimous support of the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) in condemning yet another brutal farm attack last night near Koster in the North West province. The FF Plus tabled the motion after Chris and Hesta Barnard were attacked and brutally assaulted on their farm just outside Koster.
It is imperative that political leaders across the board strongly condemn such brutal criminality.
The FF Plus's motion, furthermore, emphasised the importance of visible policing and crime prevention. Criminals must know that their misdeeds will not go unpunished and that the law has a strong presence in our communities.
The motion also stated that the specialist units, investigating farm murders and attacks, must urgently be reinforced and equipped to enable them to combat these crimes effectively. All these points were adopted unanimously by the NCOP.
The FF Plus is once again calling on rural communities to remain extra vigilant as well as to join local safety and security structures so as to contribute to the eradication of this barbaric culture that has taken root in the country.
