The FF Plus has asked the Gauteng MEC for Economic Development, Morakane Mosupyoe, whether she is going to award emergency relief in terms of the provisions of the Disaster Management Act by selectively offering aid to only certain racial groups.
If so, there is no moral justification for it and then the members of the non-selected groups must position themselves to oppose the discriminatory and racist ANC government.
The government's Black Economic Empowerment legislation is under suspicion because the black employees of small and medium-sized business enterprises owned by white people are also being negatively affected during the period of lockdown.
Many businesses have no other choice but to close their doors because they do not qualify for emergency relief aid. This is greatly contributing to the growing unemployment rate and economic decline in South Africa.
The wrong policy decisions could have far-reaching consequences for the province and could do extensive damage to its economy.
