North West’s government will implement an anti-corruption oversight mechanism over municipalities on the FF Plus’s insistence.
The province’s MEC for Finance, Ms Motlalepule Rosho, announced this step during the debate on the provincial budget in the Legislature.
This announcement follows the FF Plus’s request in the Legislature that the provincial government must implement and enforce more stringent measures to eradicate corruption.
Rosho thanked the FF Plus for its constructive input in this regard.
The FF Plus will monitor the process to ensure that the looting of public funds by municipal office bearers and officials in the North West comes to an end.
It is critically important to stop the endemic corruption in the province’s ANC-controlled municipalities.
At present, North West’s municipalities are officially classified as the worst in the country. Municipalities across the province are in a terrible condition and are teetering on the edge of utter ruin.
This is the direct consequence of ANC office bearers’ years of covering up the looting of public funds and ANC cadres’ self-enrichment at the expense of taxpayers.
The FF Plus has pointed out many times that the ever-increasing corruption and misappropriation along with the ANC policies of cadre deployment and Affirmative Action, and the culture of no accountability in all spheres of government in the province come down to high treason against the people of North West.
North West deserves better than the ANC.
