The FF Plus’s plea for civil organisations in South Africa to get involved, stand together against the ANC, and encourage people to register and vote to bring about change and renewal is busy realising.
The FF Plus welcomes the establishment of a group of civil organisations that united under the name Convergence4SA for that very purpose.
This is a very positive development which should be widely supported. Over the past few years, civil society has started to play a growing role in South Africa.
This was necessitated by the overall decay and implosion of the state, which is no longer able to fulfil its obligations towards the people of South Africa.
This initial group, consisting of 22 organisations, is paving the way for the rest of South Africa’s civil society.
The political parties that have already united in the Multi-party Charter for South Africa is a small, yet important, part of the general South African society.
The political parties in the Multi-party Charter should support this initiative encouraging the people of South Africa to register and exercise their democratic right to vote in 2024.
The FF Plus is calling on the entire South African civil society, trade unions, churches, the business community, academics, social organisations, the youth and individuals to join Convergence4SA.
Now is the time to form a united front. The 2024 elections offers an opportunity to start rebuilding South Africa and liberate it from the implosion spiral it is currently caught up in under the failing ANC government.
