Generator at Home Affairs in Potchefstroom repaired after FF Plus intervenes

Alternative power supply during load shedding was restored on 27 September at the Home Affairs offices in Potchefstroom after the FF Plus had appealed to the Minister of Home Affairs, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi.

Service delivery had been hampered for months after the emergency generator broke down and was not repaired. These offices serve the residents of a large part of North West.

The ones who were particularly inconvenienced during this time were residents from rural areas who travelled to Potchefstroom at great expense for basic Home Affairs services.

Essential documentation, such as identity documents, passports and death certificates, could only be obtained after several visits to the offices.

It is a disgrace that ANC-controlled government institutions, responsible for providing essential services to the community, almost need to be compelled to fulfil their basic responsibilities towards South Africans.

Incidences such as these once again shine the spotlight on the ANC’s inability to govern effectively and provide professional service delivery to the country’s people.

South Africa deserves better than the ANC.
