FF Plus requests thorough investigation into firearms stash at Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital

The FF Plus in Gauteng is extremely worried about the firearms that were found on Sunday morning in vacant doctors' quarters in the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital and demands that a thorough police investigation must be launched.

Security personnel found a variety of weapons, ammunition and police equipment, including three 9mm-pistols, 47 bullets, pepper-spray canisters, handcuffs, a police reflector jacket and a police hat.

It is disconcerting that these weapons were found on hospital premises, which is a place where patients are supposed to receive health care in a safe environment.

The FF Plus has asked the Gauteng Police Commissioner, Lt.-Gen. Elias Mawela, to launch a thorough investigation to determine whether the weapons had been used to commit any crimes and to apprehend the perpetrators as soon as possible.
