The FF Plus has requested the Green Scorpions to urgently intervene in the ongoing water and sewage problems experienced in Limpopo’s municipalities.
Several areas in Limpopo are affected by environmental mismanagement and negligence by the province’s municipalities.
The following areas desperately require intervention:
Water problems: Phalaborwa, Kampersrus, Burgersfort, Steelpoort, Polokwane, Musina, Louis Trichardt, Mokopane, Mookgophong, Modimolle, Bela-Bela, Thabazimbi, Northam, Roedtan, Tzaneen, Rooiberg, Hoedspruit
Sewage problems: Phalaborwa, Bela-Bela, Lephalale, Musina, Louis Trichardt, Modimolle, Thabazimbi, Northam, Kampersrus, Mokopane, Marble Hall
Most of the problems are caused by mismanagement seeing as infrastructure is not up to standard nor properly maintained.
Maladministration and corruption also have a devastating impact on essential service delivery.
The communities’ constitutional rights are being violated and the situation is getting worse by the day.
Municipalities’ apparent inability to act responsibly can no longer be tolerated.
The FF Plus will work with the Green Scorpions to investigate the problematic areas.
