The FF Plus herewith expresses its deepest condolences to the parents, learners and teachers of Riebeeckstad High School in Welkom with the recent passing of six learners in a bus accident.
This is not the first bus accident that has recently claimed lives in the Free State.
The FF Plus previously asked the Free State government to repair the road between Warden and Vrede after a teacher died in a fatal accident in 2021.
Although it is not clear whether the road the bus was travelling on at the time of the accident contributed to the accident, the provincial government has a responsibility to ensure that poor road conditions do not contribute to the needless loss of lives.
The FF Plus will offer local support to the affected families, learners and teachers.
This is a truly heart-wrenching event and the FF Plus prays the peace of Christ over everyone involved.
