The FF Plus strongly condemns the Hamas attack on Israel and the senseless slaughter of civilians and would like to see the ANC government with its open anti-Israel sentiments condemn it like the rest of the world.
The FF Plus challenges the ANC to do the right thing this time and distance itself unconditionally from Hamas’ actions.
The planned attack kicked off early yesterday morning and video footage that has since appeared on social media depicts the massacre and abduction of Israeli citizens in graphic detail.
The attack took place only a day after Israel’s celebrations of 50 years of independence
and is reminiscent of the 1973 attack by Egypt and Syria on Israel that was the beginning of a full-scale war in the Middle East.
This morning the FF Plus expressed its condolences with the ambassador of Israel in South Africa, Mr. Eli Belotsercovsky.
Belotsercovsky told the FF Plus that the attack was far from being repelled and that a large number of hostages had been taken and are being held in Israel.
The FF Plus hereby expresses its sincere condolences to the next of kin of victims and sincerely hopes that the abducted persons will be found unharmed.
This attack is barbaric, without any provocation and cannot be condoned in any way.
Any person or government that condones it or refuses to condemn it is siding with the perpetrators and the attack which is nothing but terrorism.
The FF Plus emphasizes its support for the state of Israel and recognizes Israel’s right to defend itself and its citizens with all means at its disposal.
