Dates for sessions on the investigation into the holiday club industry

After the FF Plus worked ceaselessly for years on getting the irregularities in the holiday club industry investigated, the National Consumer Commission (NCC) has finally made the dates for some of the sessions that are to take place in the different provinces available, says adv. Anton Alberts, chairperson of the FF Plus.

According to adv. Alberts, the venues for the sessions have not yet been made available, but as the information becomes available, the FF Plus will communicate it, as well as any other relevant information, to the public.

The available dates are as follows:

KwaZulu-Natal : 24 – 27 July

Mafikeng : 14 – 15 August

Polokwane : 21 – 22 August

Eastern Cape : 28, 29 and 30 August

Gauteng : 4, 5, 6 and 7 September

Northern Cape : 11 – 27 September

Western Cape : 10 – 15 July

Mpumalanga : (not yet available)

Free State : (not yet available)

Adv. Alberts says that this development is a victory for the FF Plus and it brings hope to the members of holiday clubs that have figuratively been trapped in contracts with these clubs for years.

“The FF Plus is overjoyed at finally reaching this point and we want to encourage the public to participate in the process so that the shortcomings and irregularities in the industry can be addressed and rectified.

“Any queries can be sent to Mr. Neels Hattingh of the FF Plus at neels@vfplus.org.za, or phone him on 012-772-4410.

“With the approval of the Consumer Commission, the FF Plus is now busy investigating the possibility of having the existing contracts be declared null and void by means of either a court order or an intervention by the Consumer Tribunal while the current investigation is ongoing,” says adv. Alberts.
