The neglected communities of Roedtan and Thusang, which are experiencing serious service delivery problems, need urgent help.
The FF Plus sent a letter on the matter to the Limpopo MEC for Cooperative Governance,Mr Basikopo Makamu, as well as the Municipal Manager of the Modimolle-Mookgohong Local Municipality (Nylstroom, Naboomspruit, Roedtan, Alma, Vaalwater), Ben Thobela.
These communities are plagued by serious water shortages and sewage problems, and approached the FF Plus for assistance seeing as they have not received any help or cooperation from the Municipality.
Mr Thobela responded to the letter immediately, confirming that a service provider has been appointed and will start addressing the serious water issues this week already.
According to a letter the party received from members of the Roedtan and Thusang communities, projects are often started but not completed, and the communities’ basic rights are violated on a daily basis seeing as they do not have access to potable water.
The lack of water also hampers the towns’ economic development.
The FF Plus will pay a visit to these communities this coming Monday (13 November) to discuss the problems.
