It is encouraging that Limpopo’s matric pass rate for 2023 improved with 7%, despite the many challenges faced by schools.
Limpopo’s pass rate for the class of 2022 was 72,1%, compared to last year’s 79,5%.
Mopani West, Capricorn South and Vhembe East were the best performing school districts.
Mopani West fared particularly well and boasts with a pass rate of 83,8%, an improvement of 16,7% compared to the 67,1% which it achieved in 2022.
The province’s educational system is, however, still plagued by numerous challenges, such as dilapidated school infrastructure, a shortage of classrooms and well-trained teachers, and a lack of comprehensive education quality assurance.
These challenges can no longer be labelled “historical challenges, seeing as the ANC government has had more than enough time over the past 30 years to provide Limpopo learners with quality education.
The FF Plus wishes to congratulate each and every matric learner who passed, and encourage those who did not to keep trying and not give up.
