The FF Plus condemns the motion of no confidence in the Mayor of the Tshwane Metro, Cilliers Brink, which resulted in the collapse of the coalition government, of which the FF Plus was part, earlier today.
The FF Plus always has been and always will be committed to the coalition, and played a significant role in the successes achieved by the coalition government in restoring and rebuilding the Tshwane Metro.
The business community and residents’ unprecedented support demonstrates their faith in the coalition government.
ActionSA’s traitorous and selfish decision to turn its back on the coalition has destroyed everything that has been achieved thus far.
Besides, ActionSA did not even have the decency to table its grievances in terms of the written coalition agreement. Going against the wishes of the majority of Metro residents demonstrates the party’s absolute self-centredness.
The FF Plus also condemns the actions of the Speaker, Mncedi Ndzanana, who violated the standing rules by refusing to grant the FF Plus a caucus opportunity during the council meeting. The FF Plus will refer the matter to the Ethics Committee.
The FF Plus will continue to zealously serve the interests of residents.
