FF Plus helps with securing mini substation in Kempton Park

The FF Plus joined forces with a private security company last night to secure a mini substation in Kempton Park after it had been vandalised in the early morning hours.

It is the fifth mini substation in Kempton Park to be vandalised within a matter of weeks.

The Ekurhuleni Metro’s Electricity Department replaced the mini substation on 4 July after it had been vandalised in the early morning hours.

The Department, however, failed to connect the power connection to Norkem Park.

The Metro’s security services also failed to guard the mini substation to prevent any further vandalism.

The FF Plus and staff of the security company, MML, guarded the premises through the night and also patrolled the surrounding streets.

The FF Plus is fully committed to keeping critical infrastructure secure for the community’s benefit.

The FF Plus will once again call on the Council to employ local security companies to protect, among other things, power infrastructure.

Local security companies are familiar with the area and are better equipped to prevent incidents of theft and infrastructure vandalism.
