FF Plus elects leadership in the Western Cape: Ready to take province out of the ANC and EFF’s hands

Over the weekend during its re-organisation in Goodwood, the FF Plus in the Western Cape elected a strong and competent leadership team to help lead the party to a possible coalition government in the province after next year’s general elections.

Recent polls indicate that the DA’s support in the Western Cape is busy waning and that it currently stands at approximately 44%. So, clearly the DA will need coalition partners to be able to govern.

The FF Plus has already proven itself to be a reliable coalition partner in the eleven municipalities in the Western Cape where it is governing in conjunction with the DA to give voters nothing but the best by eradicating corruption and prioritising service delivery.

The FF Plus will, therefore, help to form a strong and stable coalition government in the Western Cape in an attempt to keep the ANC and EFF out of power at all costs.

The DA will have to reconsider the strong insistence on a referendum for greater autonomy in the Western Cape, which may possibly even develop to the level of independence for the province. The demand for it is becoming greater and can no longer be ignored.

This weekend’s re-organisation formed part of the FF Plus’s national election campaign launch with the theme “Repair and Rebuild”.

Dr Corné Mulder was unanimously re-elected as the Western Cape’s provincial leader with adv Gert van Niekerk and adv Lennit Max as deputy leaders.

Along with the three leaders, the following members make up the Management Committee: Peter Marais (MPL), Cllr Juan van Schalkwyk, Cllr Johnny Steenkamp, Cllr Erika Botha-Rossouw, Cllr Cuan Elgin, Cllr Grant Marais, Cllr Elroy Baron, Cllr Danie Acker, Mr Pieter Jansen van Vuuren and Mr Pierre du Toit. The youth members are Christiaan Hoon (youth leader) and Bernadette Steenkamp (deputy youth leader).

Dr Mulder said that he is pleased with the team. The members are all experts and there is a strong sense of unity as well as a genuine desire to grow the FF Plus in the Western Cape with a focus on hard work, honesty and service.
