The Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) will not allow discriminatory language to sow division among residents or political missteps to overshadow the pressing need for service delivery.
On 29 October, the Vhembe District Municipality issued an advertisement inviting the “white community” of Louis Trichardt to engage with the Executive Mayor, Miyelani Chauke, on matters affecting the community.
In the party’s view, such references are uncalled for and do nothing to address the actual challenges residents face every day. Communities need better service delivery, not divisive politics.
The Freedom Front Plus, however, opted not to become embroiled in the controversy surrounding the advertisement, but to seize the opportunity to bring residents’ most pressing concerns to the attention of the municipal leadership.
Through its ward candidate, Anthony Hees, the Freedom Front Plus conveyed residents’ concerns, particularly regarding water-related challenges in Louis Trichardt, to the Mayor.
Hees also expressed serious concern about the Vhembe District Municipality’s poor communication. According to the Freedom Front Plus, residents’ complaints are not always properly conveyed to municipal management, while the quality and reliability of feedback to the community are questionable.
Through decisive action and constructive engagement, the party once again brought residents’ water problems to the municipal administration’s attention.
The intervention has already yielded positive results, with Louis Trichardt residents confirming that their water supply had been restored before the weekend.
The Freedom Front Plus will keep monitoring the situation. Residents can rest assured knowing that the party will keep addressing service delivery issues on their behalf and holding the municipal management accountable.
If matters show no further improvement, the Freedom Front Plus in Louis Trichardt will escalate it to provincial level.
The Freedom Front Plus believes that accountable governance, open communication and proper service delivery are the right response to the challenges residents contend with every day.
