Johanna Christiena “Stella” Potgieter is a community leader, VF Plus councillor and candidate for ward 5/7 in Kgetlengrivier. She was born in Koster and matriculated in 1998. Stella serves in the Koster CPF neighbourhood watch and is involved in safety, environmental care and community development projects. She organises the Neon Walk for Bibles, is an ambassador for World Cleanup Day . Her focus is accessible service delivery, accountability, public participation and practical cooperation that promotes safer, cleaner communities and a better future for children and families.
“I believe communities change when residents are not merely heard, but become active participants in the solution. My involvement in neighbourhood safety, clean-up actions, and community projects showed me what cooperation can achieve. Kgetlengrivier’s service delivery must be managed closer to Koster, Swartruggens, Derby and surrounding areas, with clear responsibility and feedback on water, sewage, electricity, refuse and complaints. The development plan and performance plan must become a public contract with residents. I want to help build a safer, cleaner municipality where progress is visible and participation becomes meaningful.”
