Pieter Steyn is serving his second term as a councillor in the JB Marks Local Municipality. He’s a qualified electrician and has managed his own business since 2011, giving him practical experience in technical work, problem-solving and responsible business management. Pieter also has security qualifications up to grade A level. He remains active in the neighbourhood watch and an Eskom group combating cable theft, where he helps protect communities and infrastructure. His passion is to serve residents, solve problems and restore JB Marks to its former glory, and even better.
“As an electrician and member of structures combating cable theft, I know how quickly poor maintenance and vandalism can disrupt an entire community. JB Marks must identify and secure critical electrical infrastructure and manage it according to a maintenance programme. Cooperation between the municipality, Eskom, SAPS, neighbourhood watches and residents is essential for reporting and response. I want to use my experience to follow up problems, enforce responsibility and ensure that repairs are properly completed. Our town can once again be managed responsibly, with sustainable, reliable service delivery for residents.”
