Pieter Jacobs was born in Alabama, Klerksdorp. He worked at the South African Post Office before obtaining a Baccalaureus Theologiae from the University of the Western Cape and a Baccalaureus Divinitatis from Stellenbosch. Pieter was a minister from 2003 to 2017 and served as an SAPS chaplain for ten years. His community work includes neighbourhood watches, the Community Policing Forum, old-age homes, centres for people with disabilities and development programmes. He brings faith, compassion, discipline, calmness and a commitment to service and leadership for all Matlosana residents
I believe leadership means standing alongside people, listening to them and accepting responsibility when things become difficult. My years as a minister and SAPS chaplain taught me to remain calm, treat people with dignity and work together towards solutions through crises. Matlosana needs safer neighbourhoods, reliable services, clean public spaces and better opportunities. I want to bring communities, safety role-players and the municipality closer together, follow up problems persistently and ensure that service delivery improves decisively for every resident through honesty, compassion and measurable accountability
