Johannes Jakobus Lourens is a councillor with experience in local government, environmental management, financial oversight and community leadership. He completed a BSc in Environmental Sciences with Geography and Geology. In JB Marks, he serves on the Environmental Portfolio Committee and MPAC, where he fights for better management of water quality, stormwater, finances and municipal performance. His practical experience includes groundwater monitoring, technical services, marketing and electrical work. Johannes is a problem-solver who combines technical knowledge with accountability, public service and strong relationships in the interests of all JB Marks residents.

My background in environmental sciences, groundwater and municipal oversight helps me identify both technical problems and management failures. JB Marks must address leaks, water purification, stormwater and dumping according to a measurable maintenance plan.
