Gideon, known as Deon du Plessis, is a SADiLaR researcher pursuing a doctorate in linguistics at North-West University. He completed his honours and master’s degrees with distinction and was a top student in the School of Languages. He chairs SADiLaR’s research ethics committee and serves on the NWU Senate research ethics committee. His experience spans teaching, language advice and research leadership, with a strong grounding in language and ethical decision-making.
