Dawie van der Vyver has been farming in the Laingsburg district since the early 1990s, where his family has been established since the 1800s. He has a background in mechanical engineering and also worked in Germany. Dawie is married to a social worker and is the father of a ten-year-old daughter. His longstanding involvement in agriculture and the Laingsburg community gives him practical knowledge of the area and its challenges.
As a councillor, I want to focus on effective and responsible municipal management, reliable water supply and the maintenance of essential infrastructure. I also want to address the affordability of property rates for farmers and ensure that municipal resources are used efficiently. Laingsburg’s needs must come first, and I want to help find practical solutions to the town’s challenges.
