Aranda Nel-Buitendag was born in Malmesbury and has lived in the Govan Mbeki Municipal area for 31 years. She has been an active VF Plus representative for 14 years and has served two terms as a municipal councillor. She has also been involved with AfriForum, sector policing, Ward 21 and the Secunda Clinic Committee. Her focus is on service delivery, infrastructure, water, electricity and responsible financial management. She is practical, people-focused and committed to accessible, transparent and accountable local government.
Public service means being present, listening to people and having the courage to speak up when something is wrong. During my two terms as a councillor, I have learnt that behind every complaint is a person, family or business affected by local government decisions. Residents deserve accessible, accountable representatives who focus on real solutions, not empty promises. Change takes consistent hard work, honest leadership and perseverance. I will continue to serve with integrity and put my community first.
