MULTI-PARTY CHARTER FOR SOUTH AFRICA

WHAT IS THE MPC?

The MPC is a pre-election agreement between political parties.Β

The aim of this agreement is to facilitate a political transition in South Africa away from the decline engineered by 30 years of ANC domination.Β

The agreement lays the foundation for a new multi-party government in 2024 that can address the multitude of challenges facing South Africans.Β Β

The Charter serves as a symbol of hope. There is hope to unseat the ANC and form a responsible multi-party coalition government which will serve the interest of the citizens.

Β

Are you not losing your identity as the FF Plus by being part of the charter?

No, the FF Plus is a party with its own policies and mission.

The Charter provides a foundation for a coalition government.

If the FF Plus forms part of such government it will be able to realize its policies and serve the interests of our voters.

The MPC is not a new, assimilated political party. The parties in the Charter still have differences in policies, missions, etc. That is why we remain individual parties.

A voter can however choose the Charter partner he/she agrees with the most and make that party a strong contender within a multi-party government.

WHICH PARTIES FORM PART OF THE MPC?

The FF Plus, DA, IFP, ACDP ActionSA, UIM, SNP, Isanco, UCDP, Ekhethu and UNP is currently parties to the agreement.Β

More parties will join the Charter prior to the upcoming elections.

Are these parties already in a coalition?

No, a coalition is formed after an election dependend on the results.

The aim of the agreement and charter is to already find consensus on certain pertinent issues which are usually contentious in coalition negotiations.

Following the announcement of the election results, the Constitution of South Africa only affords 14 days before a president must be elected, and a government thus formed.

Ventilating issues and obtaining some agreement between possible coalition partners will make the post-election negotiations easier and more fruitful.

Who will be the presidential candidate of the Charter?

All of the parties will contest the elections as individual parties with their own presidential candidates.

A coalition will be formed after the elections based on the results and achievements of the individual parties.

The results will thus have a bearing on the distribution of power within such multi-party government.

But who will then become president?

This will depend on the negotiations following the elections.

The stronger you make the FF Plus by voting for us, the stronger our say in the negotiations will be.
