A Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) councillor, Ms Jennifer Glover, was unanimously elected as the chairperson of the Ekurhuleni Metro’s Oversight Committee on Health and Social Development during Tuesday evening’s council meeting.
Glover brings valuable experience to the table. She served as the Mayoral Committee Member for the same portfolio in 2022 under the previous coalition government, and she has been an active member of the Committee for years.
Her expertise and dedication to community wellbeing make her the ideal candidate for this important oversight position.
The Freedom Front Plus wishes to emphasise that oversight is a core function of local government. It serves to hold the executive accountable, while ensuring that service delivery to residents remains transparent, responsible and effective.
The Health and Social Development portfolio directly impacts vulnerable communities and essential support programmes, which requires strong leadership.
The Freedom Front Plus believes that under Glover’s leadership, the Committee will promote oversight, enforce accountability and contribute meaningfully to stability in the Metro.
