Yesterday morning (17 July), Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) councillor in Kempton Park, Jean Kriek, helped apprehend a suspect attempting to break into a townhouse complex in Birchleigh North.
At around 1:30 in the morning, Kriek heard a commotion at a nearby townhouse complex and decided to investigate.
He found a man tampering with the complex’s entrance gate in an effort to gain access.
Kriek immediately contacted a security company and the suspect was detained while awaiting the police.
According to the police, the man is linked to three separate break-ins in Kempton Park. He is currently on parole for vehicle theft.
