The alarm bells are no longer just ringing about South Africa’s antagonistic and provoking attitude towards the West and America, in particular. They are sounding loud and clear.
Last week, decisive action was taken through the tabling of a bill in the American House of Representatives which requests a comprehensive review of the bilateral relations between America and South Africa. (Bill attached herewith.)
The weightiness of the matter is emphasised by the fact that the legislation was introduced by both a Republican, John James, and a Democrat, Jared Moscowitz.
The last straw was undoubtedly when the South African government, in a near haze of hubris, approached the International Criminal Court (ICC) in an attempt to force Israel to cease its retaliatory action against Hamas.
The ANC tried to dress its conduct in a shroud of innocent humanism, pretending to be a saviour rushing to come to the aid of the oppressed.
The truth of the matter, though, is that the ANC still carries the DNA of a liberation movement in its very marrow, and that is why it so easily identifies with a group such as Hamas and makes friends with countries such as Iran and everyone else who is hostile to the West and America.
It pretends to be a loyal servant of international law, which it recently did not hesitate to trample.
But America sees things for what they truly are: an embrace of everything and everyone who supports terror and oppression, also of their own people.
Mr James issued a media release this week after the bill was introduced. John James Introduces U.S.-South Africa Bilateral Relations Review Act | Congressman John James (house.gov).
He makes it clear that the legislation requires “a full review of the bilateral relationship with the United States and South Africa, given South Africa’s recent positioning and coordination with America’s adversaries”. Mr
Mr James, a black American war veteran who was deployed in, among other places, Iraq, also states in the release:
“I am proud to lead the U.S.-South Africa Bilateral Relations Review Act in the House with my Democrat colleague Jared Moskowitz.”
“South Africa has been building ties to countries and actors that undermine America’s national security and threaten our way of life through its military and political cooperation with China and Russia and its support of U.S.-designated terrorist organization Hamas.”
“Under this [South African government], America has been put last, leaving our allies and partners beholden to dictators and despots in Beijing and Moscow for critical needs like energy.”
“To ensure America’s energy security and national security, we must examine our alliances and disentangle from those who remain willing to work with our adversaries.”
So far, the Western world has maintained a strong sense of forgiving brotherhood towards South Africa, predominantly due to Nelson Mandela’s charismatic influence.
The ANC has, however, eroded this attitude little by little with its conduct and desperate clinging to ideologies with which the West cannot reconcile itself.
The eggs that the ANC laid over the past 30 years have finally hatched. And not everyone thinks the chicks are cute.
