The FF Plus welcomes the decision of the Gauteng North High Court in Pretoria today that Lt-Gen Anwa Dramat has to be re-appointed as head of the Hawks and it can be viewed as a victory for constitutional democracy in South Africa, Dr. Pieter Groenewald, the FF Plus’ chief spokesperson on Police says.
Judge Bill Prinsloo denied the Minister of Police, Nathi Nhleko’s application for leave to appeal his earlier decision. It was also found at that time that Dramat’s suspension was unconstitutional.
Dr. Groenewald says the minister must get rid of his legal advisors who are wasting taxpayer’s money merely to deliver a show of power rather than adhering to the judgements of the Constitutional Court and other courts.
