South Africa deserves to have a better president than the one it had. It, however, is not difficult to be a better president than what Mr Jacob Zuma was.
President Cyril Ramaphosa, however, needs to realise that he will be closely watched and that he will have to take action to prove that he means what he says.
The FF Plus would like to see the debates in Parliament move to a higher level and that the new president will respect Parliament, seeing as the former president had no regard for the National Legislature.
Section 83 of our country’s Constitution stipulates that the State President must promote the unity of the nation in South Africa. The former president, however, had the habit of blaming white people for everything that went wrong in the country.
President Ramaphosa will be closely watched to see if he will also blame white people for the failures of the ANC.
