The FF Plus today lodged a complaint with the Human Rights Commission (HRC) against the Mogalakwena Local Municipality (Potgietersrus) about the serious water crisis affecting residents.
The residents of streets such as Van Heerden, De Klerk and Retief have been experiencing water shortages for the past three weeks.
The ANC-controlled Municipality’s apparent inability, its lack of resources, finances and political will, and faction fights have compelled the party to lodge a complaint with the HRC.
The party also addressed an official letter to the MEC for Cooperative Governance, Mr Basikopo Makamu, requesting him to urgently intervene seeing as the water shortages are not only affecting the town, but also the surrounding areas.
Potgietersrus deserves better than the ANC.
