Old ceramic pipes lie at the root of the ongoing sewage problems driving Capital Park residents to their wit’s end.
Sewage frequently flows down Flower, Trouw and Myburg Street because parts of the ceramic pipeline have crumbled away.
The Tshwane Metro’s Department of Water and Sanitation appointed a contractor to repair the pipes last year, but the project has not yet been completed.
The project has been delayed because parts of the main pipeline run through private property and are not easily accessible. Outbuildings and paving also cover the pipeline.
The FF Plus is currently busy with an inquiry to determine whether building plans for these outbuildings were submitted to the Metro for approval.
Capital Park is currently experiencing an influx of people looking for affordable housing, which could result in buildings being erected without the required approval.
The party implores Capital Park homeowners not to erect additional buildings on their property without first obtaining the necessary permission from the Metro’s Department of Spatial Development.
