The FF Plus has laid the blame for creating an environment in Gauteng in which infrastructure is being destroyed and crime flourishes at the door of the ANC due to its poor economic policy and its destruction of the public service through cadre deployment.
That is why more people are nowadays forced to try and live on the ANC's empty promises than on their daily bread.
That was the gist of the FF Plus's message to the ANC today in response to the ANC's motion on damage to economic infrastructure during the Covid-19 pandemic in Gauteng.
The FF Plus blamed the ANC by saying that the cause of the damage to the economic infrastructure is systemic in nature and that it is simply a symptom of a greater disease.
The root cause of the disease, on the one hand, is the misguided economic policy, which the ANC plans to intensify and which will result in even more economic damage. On the other hand, it takes the form of poor service delivery by the public service due to cadre deployment.
These two factors combined have resulted in an environment where people have become desperate and organised crime can flourish. On top of that, the corruption committed by the ANC leaders sets an example that legitimises such misconduct.
So, if the ANC really is serious about addressing and resolving these problems, the systemic nature and true causes thereof must be identified. It would mean that the economic policy implemented in the country should resemble those of South Korea and Mauritius where public officials are appointed solely on merit.
The ANC, however, seems unable to make the required changes, to the detriment of all the people of Gauteng.
