Minister’s post for FF Plus leader necessitates minor changes to party’s parliamentary leadership

The appointment of the FF Plus leader, Dr Pieter Groenewald, as Minister of Correctional Services has necessitated minor changes to the party’s parliamentary team.

Dr Corné Mulder, South Africa’s longest serving Member of Parliament in the current dispensation, has been appointed the party’s parliamentary leader. He previously served as the Chief Whip.

Wouter Wessels has been appointed in Dr Mulder’s place as the new Chief Whip, while Heloïse Denner will serve as Whip.

Wessels has also been elected as the chairperson of the Standing Committee on the Auditor-General (AG) of the National Assembly (NA).

The rest of the parliamentary team includes Dr Wynand Boshoff, Philip van Staden, Tammy Breedt and Kobus van den Berg.

This term where no party has an outright majority in Parliament is an opportunity to ensure proper oversight and accountability.

The FF Plus’s team is fully committed to their task and will do everything in their power to fulfil an oversight role and execute the party’s election vision to restore and rebuild South Africa.
