The Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) is currently experiencing an unprecedented surge of support in KwaZulu-Natal, with growth so strong that the party is struggling to keep up with the influx of new members.
The party is expanding its structures in the province on a large scale and on Saturday launched its new structure for the area at a glitzy event in the Bluff, Durban.
The event was attended by a large number of residents, including local church leaders, business people and community leaders.
The Freedom Front Plus emphasised the importance of the upcoming local government elections and called on the community’s voters to register in large numbers so that they can use their votes to bring about much-needed change in local government.
The main message was that the ANC has had its chance and time – three decades, in fact – to govern the country and has made such a mess of it that South Africa is on the edge of utter ruin.
Corruption, maladministration, poor governance and absolute incompetence have destroyed state institutions and caused municipalities to collapse to the point where functionality and service delivery have ground to a halt.
The Freedom Front Plus made it very clear that local government must be local. It should be returned to communities, who should be given control to manage their own affairs.
Large municipalities should be done away with and power should be devolved to the taxpayers in every community so that they can take ownership of matters that affect them directly.
It is our time for smaller and effective municipalities. All authority should be exercised at the lowest possible level.
The ANC’s failures have not only destroyed South Africa’s economy, but also the dream of a united and prosperous South Africa. Investors are withdrawing funds, skilled people are leaving the country and ordinary citizens are paying the price.
The Freedom Front Plus’s growth across KwaZulu-Natal demonstrates that the party is here to stay in the province, it will not leave or disappear.
The Freedom Front Plus does not dwell on the past, but works for the future. The party promotes equal rights for all communities and wants to restore South Africa to ensure a better future for all.
Local government needs to return to the basics of accountable governance, safe communities, economic growth, self-determination and the protection of freedoms.
The Freedom Front Plus’s republican values do not represent an attempt to recreate yesterday, but to create a better tomorrow.
South Africa has had enough of outdated, self-destructive ideologies that fail. It is time for values and principles that work.
