During a council meeting earlier today, the Johannesburg Metro Council booted out the Director of Correctional Services.
Mr Molaodi Khutsoane was found guilty of fraud and violating the Municipal Financial Management Act in a disciplinary hearing. He also neglected to perform his duties.
Khutsoane allegedly unlawfully appointed a company to install a call centre in the offices of the ombudsman, which resulted in irregular spending of R600 000. To make things even worse, the company has no experience in the industry of call centres.
The ANC opposed Khutsoane’s dismissal tooth and nail as he is one of their eminent cadres.
However, the ruling coalition’s vote to get rid of Khutsoane was unanimous.
The FF Plus supported Khutsoane’s dismissal as the party fiercely advocates against fraud, nepotism and corruption.
