The Human Rights Commission (HRC) paid a visit to the Letsemeng Local Municipality (Koffiefontein, Luckhoff, Petrusburg, Jacobsdal) yesterday to investigate the various service delivery problems.
This is in response to the complaint lodged with the HRC by the FF Plus on the 30th of October 2020 about the ongoing water shortages in Petrusburg in the Letsemeng Local Municipality.
The FF Plus demanded that the HRC must urgently investigate the violation of Letsemeng residents' right to have access to adequate water supply. Water supply to the area is unreliable and residents are more often than not left without water.
In addition, Letsemeng residents have not received their municipal bills in months, there are no garbage disposal services and sewage flows down the streets.
The FF Plus stands up for the rights of residents in Letsemeng and encourages everyone to make sure that the ANC is ousted from power in the upcoming municipal elections.
