There is a strong possibility that the Gupta’s state capture reaches as far as the Free State Department of Health.
The company, Mediosa Health, that entered into a three-year contract with the Department to supply mobile clinic units has proven Gupta links. There are also numerous allegations regarding irregularities with the project. These mobile units are costing the government millions of rands every month, while state clinics fulfil the very same function in any case.
The FF Plus submitted questions to the Free State MEC for Health, Butana Komphela, at the Free State Legislature with regard to the allocation of the contract to Mediosa Health, the scope of the contract, the costs related to it, the contract’s terms and conditions and whether the correct tender processes were followed.
