It borders on a miracle that the ANC has eventually taken steps against a public enterprise and is trying to clean house where there is huge maladministration, Adv. Anton Alberts, the FF Plus’ parliamentary spokesperson on transport, says.
Adv. Alberts says the minister of transport really had no other choice but to dissolve the board, which was not at all capable of functioning sensibly.
“The big question is with whom these board members will be replaced. Will there really be an improvement? Given the state capture and self-enrichment atmosphere which has taken hold of the ANC under president Jacob Zuma, it is difficult to see that a board can be appointed that will be able to turn the situation around and seriously address corruption.
“The FF Plus will thoroughly monitor the situation and together with all South Africans is hopeful that there will be an improvement. But only time will tell whether the situation can be turned around and whether Prasa has a future,” Adv. Alberts, says.
