The Gauteng Legislature Committee, which oversees the Office of the Premier, unanimously decided to compile its own economic recovery plan for the province after the FF Plus suggested it.
The party’s proposal was unanimously accepted by all political parties because the ANC government's economic plans have not been successful.
Today during the Committee's oversight debate in the Legislature, the FF Plus announced the plan.
The Committee's plans focus strongly on economic development and growth that will lead to sustainable job creation. Sustainable employment is the only way to effectively eradicate inequality and poverty. Special attention will also be paid to job creation for the youth and persons with disabilities.
The Committee decided to involve various economists to help draw up and execute the plan. The project will pick up momentum at the beginning of next year.
The Committee's adoption of the FF Plus's proposal is a breakthrough for the Gauteng legislative authority as it is now not only overseeing the local government, but it is also actively helping to create policy.
