FF Plus welcomes the arrest and prosecution of three Sanpark employees in relation to rhino horn

The FF Plus welcomes the arrest of three Sanpark employees who were caught red-handed with poached rhino horn in their possession. All three are now facing charges of rhino poaching in the Kruger National Park.

Two of the suspects are security guards and the third works in the technical services division in one of the rest camps.

The arrests send a loud and clear message to officials who are reportedly involved in poaching that they will have to face the full force of the law if they are guilty of this type of crime.

The FF Plus insists that a heavy penalty must be imposed if the individuals are found guilty as it will serve as a deterrent for others who are involved in or considering poaching.

Over the past few months, law enforcers made a number of arrests as part of a comprehensive campaign against poaching. In just the last quarter, Sanparks apprehended sixteen suspected poachers in the Kruger National Park and seized seven heavy-calibre rifles. A total of 410 poaching activities were recorded.

Unfortunately, 166 rhinos were still poached in the first half of 2020. Thus, there arrests are vitally important for ensuring the survival of the endangered species.
